10/06/2020 – Home Defense Basics

This course will introduce you to the fundamentals of home defense.  You will learn the principles of preparing and planning for worst-case scenarios in your home.  Topics covered include:

• Making a home defense plan for your family
  • What to do if someone is trespassing on your property
  • Actions to take if someone is breaking into your home
• Areas of home to use as safety/retreat points
• Securing doors
• Exterior lighting and shrubbery
• Protocols for entering and exiting your home
• Firearms in the home, safe storage, and proper use
• Interactions with police
• Statistics and discussion on home invasions and break-ins
• Emergency Procedures for all situations including fire, natural disaster, or civil unrest.
